The following table gives approximate capacity and dimensions for our standard skip sizes. Please note, however, that our skips come in different shapes and may not be exactly as detailed below.

Important Note: The maximum skip size allowed for skips containing only brick, concrete, stone and/or soil ie. very heavy materials, is 6 yards. This is due to the lifting capacity and weight restrictions of the lorries.
Your skip must be level loaded when collected ie. the height of the waste must not exceed the highest point on the sides of the skip. Overloaded skips (such as the one below) will either be charged extra or not collected until the overloaded waste is removed.
Skip Hire Period
The standard hire period for any skip size is up to 2 weeks. However, during quieter periods we can be flexible with this arrangement if discussed in advance. If you would like to keep your skip for longer than the standard 2 weeks, please contact us to discuss the options available.
We can also offer:
- Same day collection: We can drop off your skip and pick it up the same day
- Next day collection: We can drop off your skip and pick it up the next day
- Wait and load: We can wait while you load your skip and take it straight away. You’ll need to be able to load your skip in about 20 minutes for this service.
Skip Licences (Road Permits)
If your skip is being placed on a public highway or on land belonging to the council, it will need a permit from the local council. We arrange these for you. Our permit charges are £60 per permit.
Permits take at least 3 clear working days to process so you will need to arrange this with us about a week or so before your skip is required.
Permits in the Medway council area last for 2 weeks. Permits for other areas last for 7 days. If you have not finished with your skip in this time, permits can be renewed. Renewals also take 3 clear working days to process and cost a further £60.
